Sir, I read with interest the article of Coventry and Morton (2003) that investigated DC infiltration within breast cancers and the association with survival. Interestingly, they found that more patients were alive at the 5-year time point in the group with higher CD1a DC density than the lower CD1a DC group, but this failed to reach statistical significance at the P=0.05 level. Abstract l -Carnitine is a vitamin-like nutrient essential for energy production and lipid metabolism in many organs and tissues such as skeletal muscle and heart. Even if l -carnitine can be synthesized, most of the carnitine present in human body is provided by food. Until now, no large study has been conducted where the content in l -carnitine of various foods was analyzed. The objective of this study was to determine the level of free l -carnitine present in food commonly consumed in Western countries. Anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) is a histological subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, largely characterized by anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) positivity, resulting from the chromosomal translocation t(2;5). We report a pediatric case of ALK-positive ALCL with primary concomitant involvement of bone and central nervous system (CNS); thereafter, a literature review about pediatric primary bone and primary CNS ALCL was conducted. Structure Effect of Imidazolium-Based Dicationic Ionic Liquids on Claisen Rearrangement

A large group of imidazolium-based dicationic ionic liquids (DILs) has been prepared in good yields. Thermal stability of all DILs has been determined. The effects of the reaction time, cation, imidazolium C2–H acidity, and anion on the Claisen rearrangement of allyl phenyl ether have been investigated. Type of anion and the presence of the acidic C2–H bond in the imidazolium moieties have proven to be essential for this reaction. The simple procedure and the possibility of avoiding the use catalysts and volatile organic solvents make this synthetic method environmentally benign and adaptable for large-scale applications.
Identifying individual differences using log-file analysis: Distributed learning as mediator between conscientiousness and exam grades

Abstract Online learning poses major challenges on students' self-regulated learning. This study investigated the role of learning strategies and individual differences in cognitive abilities, high school GPA and conscientiousness for successful online learning. We used longitudinal log-file data to examine learning strategies of a large cohort (N = 424) of university students taking an online class. Distributed learning, the use of self-tests and a better high school GPA was associated with better exam grades. AbstractGeneralizations of Fine and Wilf's Periodicity Theorem are obtained for the case of bidimensional words using geometric arguments. The domains considered constitute a large class of convex subsets of R2 which include most parallelograms. A complete discussion is provided for the parallelogram case.
Learning spatial filters for multispectral image segmentation.

International audience; We present a novel filtering method for multispectral satel- lite image classification. The proposed method learns a set of spatial filters that maximize class separability of binary support vector machine (SVM) through a gradient descent approach. Regularization issues are discussed in detail and a Frobenius-norm regularization is proposed to efficiently exclude uninformative filters coefficients. Experiments car- ried out on multiclass one-against-all classification and tar- get detection show the capabilities of the learned spatial fil- ters.

Mechanism of Néel Order Switching in Antiferromagnetic Thin Films Revealed by Magnetotransport and Direct Imaging.

We probe the current-induced magnetic switching of insulating antiferromagnet/heavy metals systems, by electrical spin Hall magnetoresistance measurements and direct imaging, identifying a reversal occurring by domain wall (DW) motion. We observe switching of more than one third of the antiferromagnetic domains by the application of current pulses. Our data reveal two different magnetic switching mechanisms leading together to an efficient switching, namely the spin-current induced effective magnetic anisotropy variation and the action of the spin torque on the DWs.
